Animated Morphing and vertex ?

I really think it's time for Blender to code in a animated morphing function for mesh and vertex. I'm not refering to a Micky Mouse version, but ones you see in other application, one where you have one model then skip a view frames and click on the Mesh you would want it to morph to. I would also like to see this be done with UV and Blender texture "Noise" funtion. I know there's a texture paint script that works like the one Maya. I'm sure all it would take is the closest vertex to the mesh, however the vertex would have to stay away from one another to prevent cross overs.

And animated morphing with particals would be cool too.

Is that more as in it can do more or more as in it should do more ?

The presence of "can" and not "should" might be a good hint there...
