Partical ideal with sketch.

Post by Al-Capone »

The first thing I would like to point out is this idea, this is a path for particals that will control the way it is move, this could be all together or indivisial. The path will determan the the x and y position as well as the life and death of the partical, the path would also have the option of being join with seperate path so it could flicker, jump, whatever.

This second one deals with particals in 3d space, mostly the basic mapping that's already in Blender.

I would also like to see Blender able to attach 3D object and face with particals, just to get around the YafRay limitation with particals, I'm hoping that the life, death could also be apply with particals.

Please let me know what you think and could this be put into Blender ?

You can already use dupliverts to put objects in the place of particles.

what do you mean by that '3d mapping"

do you mean all lf the objects have a global texture space? if so, map it to global :o

I'm mean, instead of having the particals facing flat, they will be rotated, know what I mean ?

Hi Al,

I'll probably get back into a bit more programming on the particles front this weekend (been back to europe for a holiday the last few weeks!)...

I like the path following idea, so I might give it a go (no promises though, work is killing me lately!). Not sure exactly how it might work, but I have a few ideas and I'll have a play.

I wasn't sure what you meant by:
the path would also have the option of being join with seperate path so it could flicker, jump, whatever.
Can you do another sketch for that?

On the dupliverting thingy:

1) Parent the object you want to appear instead of each particle to the emitter object
2) Switch on "Dupliverts" in the object tab for the emitter object.

If you also want the object to rotate with the particles try switching on "Vect" in the particle effect, then rotating the child object (not quite sure how to make this work perfectly, you just need to fiddle with it!)

Cheers

Leon

Use the HaloPuno option for the material of the particles.

and PLEASE it's P-A-R-T-I-C-L-E-S (without the dashes)

and lower-case, except for the first letter when it starts a sentence, or is used as a propri.

Hey leon, here's the graph you ask for did you also look at the programmable particles idea, like use in screensavers ?

hmmm, i guess this is a feture request, would it be possible to make so you can have 2 seperate particle effects from one object, cause you can put more then one effect on an object, but when you make two of them emmiters, only the first one emits.
