Trim, extend function

Post by Khiraly »

Hi!

Where can I find the trim/extend function in the current blender release?
(it was present in 2004-01-14 tuhopuu version)

Thx in advance!
(It would be really urgent to know)

Cheers,

It's not ported from tuhopuu yet.

It's not ready to port. There's still quite some limitations with it, and I want to extend the toolset a little more before porting it all at once.

Thanks for showing interest though.

Grumble grumble :P
Well, for all it's limitations, it has been very useful for tracing out plans etc. Looking forward to a bigger toolset though! Hope you find time to work on them.

Thanks! :D

Thx for the reponses!

(For what I hade to need, I have resolved: calculed manually the points, it was just 2 hours work)

In my tuhopuu version(2004-01-14), the trimming function was just buggy.

The recent tuhopuu2 version doesnt contain it! So I cant test the recent trimming/extend function, and I cant make feedbacks.:-(

I have tried this build:

It's still in there under Ctrl-E. A lot less buggy than the first version I did.

Thx, its there, and works great(for the first try).
But if I didnt know the shortcut(Crtl-E), its nowhere this function.

Could be place in the Mesh->Edges->Extend->[to face]/[to edge] menu?

Now I try to make the same thing, what I did it manually. If something is wrong, I will make fieedbacks. Thx a lot!

The shortcut key is listed in the featurelist.txt file. It's always a good idea to look there for new stuff, because things aren't usually added to the menus until they are ready for mainstream usage.

I have used several hours this trimming, function, and I have a problem, that I cant solve precise.

I have make a house(for my architectural homework, the perspective view, I used blender;), so the problem was, that I wanted to extend 7 roof-beam to capitals.

So I simplified the problem, and basically this is:
The initial image, from this we start:

We will obtain this result:

But whit the extend function, I'm able to do just just at this step:

I hope that, the problem is comprehensible from these images ...

If not, I try to explain better.

I see what the problem is, and that something that could be solved with the extended toolset, but I don't have anything done on that done yet, so short of doing it by hand or doing a py script, I don't have much for suggestion.
