Wireframe Mode and Halo Edges

In the material settings, there is an option to make an object render as a wire frame. It seems, though, that it isn't possible to change the thickness of the wires. If there is a way to do this I would be interested in finding out.

In either case, maybe the wireframe mode could be extended to have some of the features of halos because, if that was possible, it would open up some options like hair, fur, lightning, etc., that are not very easy to do with halos and particles. In other words, you could make halo edges rather than just halo points.

That's pretty cool. Thanks. :D

Now, what would be neat is to make it possible to treat the edges like halos (as I mentioned before). That way, you could get certain effects (like lightning and fur) by making these edges instead of piling up halos or trying to make a halo that appears linear. It may be possible with the script, though, if the right textures are applied to the were mesh.
