in every menu that contains a script as a item, a small snake is shown ( lastet CVS )
But i think that's a bit ugly, no? No other function has a icon... :?

I think it is a very nice addition for showing that the function you're about to use is a python script... should help people with deciding where to report bugs... Bugs in python scripts, that are bundled with Blender should be given at http://projects.blender.org/projects/bf-scripts

I think these menu icons are mostly to much and a overdone. It is one of these stupid tries frome M$ to be innovative like Apple in interface design but without real plane and idea. Like always just add something to the stolen ideas to make look a little bit diffrent. So do not add to much of these icons and did just to make a difference between the entries and not for just having the same icon for every entry.

I'm not a apple user (just Win and Linux) but i had a lot to with interface design in my last project and speak to a lot of gui designers. So i think the best way for the blender project is read the Apple interface guide carefully:
http://developer.apple.com/documentatio ... TP30000356
http://developer.apple.com/documentatio ... index.html

and studing all the interfaces that are existing:

the idea of showing what is python and what is core is very good.

now this particular icon is not perfect, and from my point of view should be a bit smaller and less colorfull to no obstruct the menu.

But noneless, it's a good addition and should be only improved a bit.

Adding other icons is useless.
