download for max osx is not dwg

:( I've downloaded the Blender program for mac osx. I'm getting a strange looking character. It's not a dwg that I can unzip or unstuff. It won't open with anything. I've downloaded the program several times and keep getting the same file. It says it's a d document.

does anyone have any idea why? Or what to do with this file?

it's a 'dmg' file which is a disk image that mounts itself when you double click it. This is pretty standard practice for distributing Mac software.

If it isn't mounting then there is something wrong with your OSX install. Could you post a screen shot of what happens when you double click it so that we can see what the problem is in more detail?

yes, I meant dmg.

For some reason the file didn't complete it's name when I imported it
and stopped with .d
so
I added the words .dmg to the file name, and it changed to the
correct file and unstuffed itself when I double clicked it.
So I'm now ready to install it.
Thanks for your help too.
