Three simple questions

Post by bloto »

Hi.
I have three simple questions.
1. Is there any posiibility to change bacground color of blender's editor?
2. How to display current 3d cursor position like in 3dsmax?
3. How to get object boundaries?

Best Regards.

1) You can change the colour of most things in blender by going to the theme panel:
User preferences and Themes

Blender has a few options that are not saved with each file, but which apply to all of a user's files instead. These preferences primarily concern user interface handling details, and system properties like mouse, fonts, and languages.

As the user preferences are rarely needed, they are neatly hidden behind the main menu. To make them visible, pull down the window border of the menu (usually the topmost border in the screen).
Once you have found the colour you like, drag the settings window back up, and press CTRL+U to save settings.

2) Under the view menu (on a 3d window), click View properties (shortcut would be nice for this please). There is the x y and z location of the cursor in the new floating panel.

3) I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this. There is a view option for "bounding boxes". This is under the small icon menu (viewport shading) on the 3d view header.

You may be able to find other answers to your questions in the official blender documentation:
http://www.blender.org/modules.php?op=m ... file=index

The link can be found on the left.

Finally, this is a developement forum, for future user questions please sign up to the forums at www.elysiun.com.

I think he meant the Gizmo in Max, and nothing like this is supported in Blender.
