more drawmode options

Post by kakapo » Mon Jan 03, 2005 6:24 pm

what i really miss in blender is more drawmode flexibility.

for example sometimes it's very hard to perceive the shape of a textured model if it is totally unlit. an option to draw the model textured and shaded/lit at the same time would be very helpful. such a drawmode should also be possible in edit mode.

I agree- And using the Light mode of the faces an adding lights is not always an answer, somtimes you need a more generic shading like in shaded non textured view.

- Hope this isnt too hard to add.

Yeah, crossing the shaded lighting with textures would be nice. But you can have lighting and textures, just make sure your model's faces are flagged as "light" in the TexFace options and your light sources are in the same layer as the model.

do i really have to tediously set this light flag for every single face separately or did i miss something?

it seems, there's a bug: i joined just 3 small objects and i went in "solid"-mode, but i can't see the objects because they're completely black!!
