feature request: extrude along equation.

Post by bannerboy » Fri Feb 11, 2005 10:59 pm

Would it be practicle to make a feature to allow you to extrude a section allong the path formed by a custom algebraic equation, so that you could make perfect parabola's etc. something like this

Equation: -x^2

It doesn't seem like it would be too hard, and It has the potential to be verry useful.

It would be good to Rotate, Scale and Move also.

ex: Scale a sphere by sqrt(2) to get a simple way of having a 1 radius sphere!

Isn't that what dupliframes already enables you to do?
Not for precise math curves, of course, that would require math functions as IPO (which would be a generalisation of this request IMHO, enlarging its usefulness).
