Applying lamp settings to all lamps

Post by Mercator »

I have added many many lamps to my scene. All the lamps must have the same energy. After rendering i noticed that my scene has to be much darker. How can I adjust the energy one time for all my lamps? It would be too much work to select and adjust the energy for every single lamp.
I tried to press A to select all, but i can only change the energy value for one lamp.

Link your lamp objects to the one and same lampdata. That way you change all lamps with the same lampdata.

Jester is right, If you already have existing lamps that you want to link, all you have to do is select all the lamps you want to link, then make the master lamp the active selection. Then press CTRL-L (for Link) Then choose lamp data. Tada! All the lamps will share the same lamp data! You could then go and make the single users if you want to creak the connection later.

This is also a great way to apply a material to a bunch of objects. Select them all, choose one with the material already, CTRL-L then choose material!

Have fun!
