Still problems with import/export of 3ds

Post by Mercator » Sun Dec 25, 2005 11:47 am

I have Blender 2.4 and i want to import/export .3ds files.
I googled an searched the forum, but everything I found didn't work.
I put the scripts (.py) in the .blender\scripts directory, but they don't appear in the import/export menu.
Do I have to install them in some way?
Do you have some scripts for me that work?

What OS are you using ?
Did you remove your previous Blender install ?

This can happen if you are still using the previous version ".blender" directory.

On linux it is located at your HOME directory, you have to rename it from ".blender" to ".blender.old" and put the ".blender" on the Blender 2.40 install directory in your HOME directory.

In Windows it depends, you can either choose to use the main directory or use the user directory.
How to use a Blender:
Put your model, rig, animation and textures in the Blender, turn the Blender on and wait for it to Render, then turn the Blender off and show it to your friends.
