Apparently no interest in this one, so I won't bother with it anymore.

I like the shape, for it is clear for the conception.
But your icons are too big, so they take almost all the place of the button, hence the buttons looks some blurred. I do not think that is a good way.

I don't think the size is the problem, more my use of color - I intentionally used soft, pastel colors. Here's an alternative, with black borders:

Icons are stored in a file called blenderbuttons, which is a .png, yes.

the left icon looks like a move icon... but is waaaay too busy for that [just the arrows would be fine]

the triangles don't make any sense as a move icon

rotate and scale are okay though, if a bit bright in colors contrasting icons elsewhere in blender.

... and I'd have to agree that the icons are too large for the buttons they're on

I don't use the manipulators in blender, so I hadn't noticed the icons were horrible before.

I agree. It's the one I'm the least pleased with. Please just disregard that one.

Since a triangle is used already, I don't see why triangles indicating movement would be worse. The real issue is whether the icons are better than the current ones. The original thought was that the darker nuance would represent original position, size, rotation or whatever - and the lighter nuance the motion. It's more evident with the original rotation icon, but no one understood that one. I guess you'd have to be an overlogical aspergian like myself to understand.

Well, I'm a colorful guy. :) Really, I'm just trying to sell the basic idea. Colors are irrelevant.

Personally, I don't see this, but we all have our way of seeing things.

Thanks for the input.

I have to agree about the coments for the left one, perhaps just a nicer version of the current hand?

Note: I dont use blender, and I was going to suggest using a gloved hand before I even fired up blender to check what it was currently. That implies to me that the hand is the most intuitive choice to toggle manipulator mode.
