Video Files import?

Post by artisanicview » Thu Jun 01, 2006 1:11 am

I recently discovered the Blender software. I tested the Compositing module with his Node Editor and the Video Sequence Editor but I realized this modules have some big issues:
- Compositings can be apllyed only in photo files and not Video files.
- The Video Sequence Editor cant import a lot of MPG, AVI, WMV, MOV, RM, MKV, etc.

So, my questions are:
- It is possible to add Video file support in the Compositing module?
- It is possible to ad support for a vide range of video codecs? Around are at least two GPL players who can open almoust any type of video and audio files. MPlayer and VLC. I think a little source code import from this projects can resolve the Video import issues.

So, the Blender build with have ffmpeg integrated is resolving the issues described above? Will add support for video files in Compositing? Thanks.
