Quick Question

Post by moipersoin » Thu Oct 05, 2006 7:04 am

Sorry guys, but I have to ask.

I create a UV sphere ...

Do a face select of 9 polys and Duplicate... <SHIFT d>

now how do I make these polys their own object ?

ie: If I TAB out of edit and select the new object on its own without th UV sphere being selected as well ?

I have looked through all of the hot key combinations and can't figure it out.

if you want the short answer, you can't, or at least not directly. There are two ways to do this.
1. create a new sphere
2. duplicate the old sphere in object mode, and then do your cutting
