Apparently, the 3ds python importer does not recover per face color information. The Face Material (4130) chunk is ignored.
But I read that many persons can load 3ds files exported with sketchup "version pro" in Blender. Since most faces in sketchup objects are not textured, but simply have color info, I wonder how they are doing it? Is there another script available somewhere that deals with this, before I try to modify it?
