Hello folks,

for a research project, I need to write an export plugin that does the following:

Let's say, the whole scene consists of one mesh who's faces are all quadrilaterals and who form a rectangular grid.

Then the export script should walk through all the quadrilaterals and output it's vertices, but it shoud ALSO output the vertices of the eight faces adjacent to the current surface.

Is it possible in Blender Python to fetch adjacent vertices to an existing one?

Hello,

Yes it is possible, but not directly. You need to loop through all the faces, store adjacency data, and then loop through them again using this data to accomplish what you described in your post.
