Blender 2.48a doesnt detect Python

I just installed Blender on Vista 64 but Blender doesnt seem to recognize My Python installation. The only Python version that installs is the 32bit version, there are 64bit versions for Intel Itanium and AMD but I dont have those processors.

Blender 2.48a 64bit version
OS Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit
Python version 2.5.2 32bit (doesnt work)
Python version 2.5.4 Final 32bit (doesnt work)

Everything has to be either 64 or 32 bit. No mix and match.

So I need to get Blender 2.48a 32bit I presume? Python doesnt have a 64bit version for Xeons as far as I know.
