weight painting mode - which function invoked when set color

Post by anders211 » Tue May 07, 2013 10:26 pm

How to make in weight painting mode that when vertex:
- belongs to 4 vertex groups and have weight > 0 in those 4 groups
do not color it.
I suppose that I have to write some python code and put it into current default code of modify color action. However how can I get to know which function is invoked when I am set color in weight painting mode with the aid of mouse left click???

that's done in c-code, you can't change the displayed color in viewport with python. What would be the purpose of this anyway?
I'm sitting, waiting, wishing, building Blender in superstition...

something like this
bpy.ops.object.vertex_group_limit_total(limit=4, all_deform_weights=False)
