transform orientations with scripting

Post by rabbi_joe » Thu Aug 08, 2013 2:51 pm

hi everybody,

what i want to do in a script is to change the lokal orientation of an objekt to a CTO.
I tried to do this with:
bpy.ops.transform.transform(mode = 'ALIGN')
and than reading the ratation of the object to rotate the mesh then in the oposite direction.
"bpy.ops.transform.transform(mode = 'ALIGN')" says "FINISHED" but in fact nothing happened.
Can somebody help me please.
Or mayby show me a nicer way to do what i want.
I am absolutely new to blender and python so i am a little bit lost at the moment.

Cheers
Joe
