Suggestions for how to find library code

Post by DanCar » Sat Oct 19, 2013 2:34 pm

Hi,

I created a 3d model of a city using vpython . I am interested in taking that 3d model and rendering it using ray-tracing techniques because want to make extensive use of glass mirrors. I looked around for different ways of doing this and blender seems like a good way of doing it.

My questions are:
  • 1. Is there a blender script library that will take vpython like objects (rectangles) and make them easy to cast into a 3D model? Or should I just code starting with a cube?
    2. Is this the best place to ask such a question?
    3. Is blender a good tool for this or do you have other suggestions?
Thanks,
Daniel

Here is a link to the vpython code that creates a 3d city model:

A more interesting question than the vpython code is: what sort of data structures do you end up with?

Is this something can can be easily imported or converted to a format Blender will import?
