Controlling the viewing camera

I'm wanting to change the blender view window. Is there a way to access the transform, through which the viewport is viewed?

i.e. as a person interacts with my script, it changes what they are viewing. (i.e. while modelling, not during rendering)

also is there a way to lock the view, to stop them moving it around?

What blender module is this stuff in?

Check the docs
Under the python api is a module camera, checkout the example...

i got the same question, but for Blender 2.5x

controlling a camera is not the problem, but how to change the VIEWPORT? the viewport is like a virtual camera, not a camera object. What i want is to move and rotate this virtual cam, similar to what the Fly Navigation does but scripted movement.

The only useful entry in API docs seems to be bpy.ops.view3d.move, but no clue how to use it ... iew3d.move
