Exporting to Unity rotation error FBX

Hello all! I've been messing around with this problem for about a week now and haven't made much headway. Hopefully you can help me out.

I have a blender file that includes a human mesh and a gun mesh. When I export the file to an FBX, and place it in Unity, the human mesh is normal but the gun mesh is rotated. How can I fix this, so that the gun is correctly oriented? Also, in case this might mean anything, the human mesh was rigged and animated using an armature in Pose Mode, but the gun was animated in Object Mode. Thanks!
