Blender source code is released under the Gnu Public License (GPL) Basically, this means you are free to use the source and modify it. If you release your modified version, you must make your source code available.

so you mean in order for me to create a software in blender i need to edit the codes of the whole blender software?

im making a standalone software in blender, with gui's and everything. i know it is possible using the blender game, but what im doing is a simulator about lava flow, and im using particle system, blender game doesnt support it compared to blender render mode. so can i make a standalone software out of blender render mode?
