I am using version 2.68a and when i scale my object to largely blender does this a soon as i go into camera mode when i wanna get a good angle ready for a render..
Screenies Below.
This is what happens when i zoom in and out with the camera view
if i go back into normal view then its fine, then my image is viewable..
Nothing outside of Clip Start and Clip End will be displayed. That is the meaning of clipping planes. they mark the front and back of the viewing frustrum - all the stuff visible in your scene.
You want Clip Start and Clip End to closely bracket your scene.

how do i figure out what my correct clipping bracket is ?
You set the clipping border in the view panel of the properties tool shelf of the 3D viewport (revealed and hidden by the Nkey). Set the max clipping diestance to a large value, like 10000.

i can see my object just fine in normal camera mode, when i want to render a image and i use the NUM 0 KEY and i get the boarder around my screen to imitate a camera i cant see half my object if i zoom out to far...
just start up blender, scale your cube so that it is HUGE vs your workspace grid, and just press NUM0 and zoom you and rotate around your cube. u will see your cube is half gone..
2) In the properties editor, select camera properties. This is an image of a camera, and occurs right next to the texture tab, where the materials tab would be in a mesh object.
3) If necessary, reveal the "lens" panel, and under "clipping", change the value under "end". I'd try a values of 1000, and if it not high enough, I'd increase it to 5000, and then 10000.
