Are there any plans to implement this into the game engine? It would be a highly useful feature.
For one it would allow true 2D games to be made with Blender, which is opening up a whole new field of games which can be made with it.
Also it would prove extremely useful for designing and programming interfaces for 3D games. Using an orthogonal camera, it would become much easier to define positions of icons and other interface components.
Orthogonal Camera Support?

Yes, this would be a nice feature,
It is possible to use the game-engine in orthogonal mode, if you delete all your camera's.
However, because you don't have any camera's, you can't animate your 'view',
you can workaround this by moving all objects in your scene instead of a camera.
I've actually made some stuff like that, but it's far from ideal.
cheers,
Jasper
