Turntable view rotation
This request has been beaten to death in the forums. I've downloaded the latest CVS source and have a working build environment. Unless there is a huge objection, I'd like to implement the turntable view rotation where there is no roll to the camera.
It would seem that most users use Trackball view rotations, and those who select turntable don't really see a differene between that and Trackball. I would recommend that turntable become what people generally think of as turntable rotation where the view orbits around a point with no camera roll.

Ah! Good, I probably would have regretted the whole babies thing eventually anyway. So instead, thank you.aughey wrote:The patch has been posted. It's in the thuopuu source now.
I think my wife and 3 children would take issue of your proposal. That's quite an offer for only 20 lines of code.

Re: Turntable view rotation
I used to like turntable views, those were the days..aughey wrote:This request has been beaten to death in the forums. I've downloaded the latest CVS source and have a working build environment. Now I can't stand it.. I guess trackball makes people sick to their
stomach, but over time you will find that turntable tends to make object
upright, and symmetrical.. I mean in reality you don't design things on a
turntable, why do it in 3D package?? But if you get disoriented and
can't work in 6 degrees of freedom, there is a switch in the top of the screen that will toggle it off.. Only probleem is its not consistent..
If you are looking for turntable animation, just parent a camera to a empty, rotate the empty..

Well there is the pottery wheel, though granted, that is a slightly different techniquebfvietnam wrote:I mean in reality you don't design things on a
