Does anyone have the skinny on how this would affect Blender 3?

Re: MS intentions for Open GL?
It could be possible to write wrappers for the OpenGL commands (although I would not like to do it). But what I seem to get from what I know about longhorn is that almost every Win32 API application is going to be broken in some way, so this, although threatening in some way isnt really that big a thing compared to the tonnes of software (mostly commercial) that also wont able to operate under their new computing system.Does anyone have the skinny on how this would affect Blender 3?
Kind Regards

This makes me think, what about other 3d software like Maya? Think of how if these rumors are true, they will lose half the performance... This is a good chance for Blender and other 3d packages to really market Linux and show how much better the performance is, and would be (if these vista OpenGL claims are true) with 3d under Linux.simonharvey wrote:although threatening in some way isnt really that big a thing compared to the tonnes of software (mostly commercial) that also wont able to operate under their new computing system.
Just some thoughts

Some guy I know already researched this:

It seems you can use OpenGL apps without a problem if you install a IHV OpenGL ICD.
