Back when the MoneyMeter was filling and I first read that Blender was going free-source, I was thinking of all the potential for Blender users. I came up with an

to make a company that made animations for advertising and other uses. Blender is like the world's best program for that and I knew how to use it so i went for it. Now my company, phi R 3D, is on the web at
www.phir3d.com.
I noticed that the MoneyMeter has slowed down now that Blender is free-source. This is

because without the $$$ the Foundation will not be able to function to its full capability. I think if anyone makes $$$ of Blender they should donate some to the Foundation. They deserve it.

that's a fine idea. Of course, being GNU-GPL licensed, there is no such obligation, but it's certainly not a bad idea, and its in your best interests as well.

I like the idea of this thread, but although
most GNU GPL software is gratis, that's not the case for
every so licensed piece of code. Nobody seems to have read the license that everybody loves so much. Strange. But maybe in two years from now, the internet is such a legally dangerous place that everybody will be a lot more careful on certain issues. Who knows?

Congrats on your company. It would be nice, but the foundation will also sell things to help funding. The eshop has been reopened and there are all kinds of ideas for things to sell there, including donating models and textures to sell on a CD. We'll get creative, the foundation will be sucessful!

Does your browser support frames? I really need to make a no-frames version.
