Boolean gag....

Post by Zarf »

I actually noticed this several months ago, but now that much more people have access to 2.25 I thought I would post it. If you do a CSG op on a mesh and then try and beutey fill the resultant mesh (please don't ask why I tried this in the first place)... a dialog will pop up that says

'wanna crash?'

The only option you are given is

'Yes please!'

you keep clicking on it and it keeps popping up for while. never had it crash me though :)

I don't know if this is a general beauty fill thing or not, only noticed it on booleaned meshes (dunno why that would be though...)

its in the givequadverts function (source/blender/src),

Code: Select all

/* returns vertices of two adjacent triangles forming a quad
   - can be righthand or lefthand

          |\      |
          | \ 2  | <- evl1
          |  \    |
 evl->  | 1 \  |
          |    \  |

thats what the code for the function says, So i'm guessing its not to do with the beautify function, but that when the function was written, this was put in as a bad last conditional because of lack of time or something for fixing the code. perhaps it was too complex for the coder. anyway, those were just guesses.
