SOLID BACK
The Solid library, collision detection in Blender, was announced to become open source this year. This will enable a full functional Blender again.
Just got it confirmed that it's really going to happen!
Still not an exact date mentioned... original plan was July.

From what I've been reading and researching Solid-3 is basicly not for downloads since some server reason.... and that was published in early 2002
Also I am guessing Ton is going to give the game engine the boot from the official release and part it as a sepeart tool, giving back the small file usage and i am guessing less confusion to though new to blender wonder that the blue pacman face is for ^_^
Also i've been looking in the source and enabling more usablilty doesn't look that hard, i tried adding GameLogic.getCurrentController().getOwner().setRotation basing it off the orinatation part in the python, but then I came into several problems, (seems bf-blender wont let me use the game engine (anyways to disable?) then I tried in tuhopuu and I ripped out hair till i found out that when I chnaged a header I made to make clean everything, and thats a long time to recomplie everything just to find out i got some error)
So i would actrally rather have the same engine sepearte ^_^, but hopfully SOLID will be back soon

I could be wrong, but I believe the current plan is,
assuming there are enough people willing to work on it
once solid is released, it will stay in and be functional again.
I'm sure when we start talking about blender 3.0 there will
be a debate on the gameengine but until then,
if there are people willing to work on it and it works there
is really no reason to take it out.

Ton if your reading this, My vote is to keep it part of the main distribution.
I just got the Gameblender book and this is the one of the main reasons (The other is animation
) that I have chosen to learn Blender as my 3D tool of choice. JMTC.
BTW yall are doing a great job, Keep up the good work I really appreciate it.
