question about maximum texture size.

question about maximum texture size.

Two questions:

1) Is the maximum texture size alowed (BGE) 1024X1024 pixels? (Considering that you are going to texture single quad plane).

2) I have one texture 2048X2048 aplied to a plane (a quad one). Then, i subdivided this plane onto four other planes (same size) and separated it. Now i have four other planes each one with an UV area 1024. The big texture (2048) remains exactly the same, no crop.

What Blender is suposed to do during realtime? Render each quadrant of the huge texture as a 1024 pixel texture? :?
