I based the size of the vert and face render data tables on G.totvert and G.totface (after some work to make sure it's the right number....).
Let me know how it works on your biggest nightmare scenes....

Not recommended....
Ton pointed out a big flaw in my method. The G.totface and G.totvert counters I used to size the vert and face lists, really only show the faces and verts in the current 3D window. If you have some other window active and try to render, this will probably crash.

excuse me, is it possible i get a binary for Linux, or windows of the altered version.
the thing is i have spent about 10 hours trying to compile and trying to install Nvidia drivers (which i think have the GLX libary on them).
but to no avail
i have Soooooo much university work to do that this time is really costing me grades.
so it would be SUPER appreciated (even more than it already is coz this is awsome) if i could get a compiled version
