Cycles Particle Systems Support

Post by ZackatSumoFilms » Sat Jul 21, 2012 8:28 pm

This question arose when I was tasked with creating light rays in Cycles. Since there's nothing to bounce light off of in empty space, I mistakenly assumed I should render some smoke and shape my emitter. Well, that didn't work. But, it pointed out a major issue, since the other part of the animation was going to have an emitter spit out objects. So, when is Cycles going to support the particle system? I love that I can now use my video card, but this means my workflow involves at least 3 major portions now and a ton of compositing. If anyone has a workaround to at least allow some volumetric light rays in cycles please share. Thanks!
