Import obj with image file

Post by Freddythunder » Sat Oct 27, 2012 1:05 am

I'm pretty new to blender and have what's probably a quick question.

I'm looking to see how I can import this model into blender. I would like to use blender for a lot of upcoming film projects. Anyway, I can get this model into blender without the image. It has 4 arms so I'm puzzled by that. I added the image as the texture but when I render it's just the grey model (using blender render and the sun real quick) ... ter/684780

Or, at least, can someone show me some easier to follow tutorials on how to do easy things like this??

it's a little tricky to import this model into blender. You first need to import obj, then use Material utils to select by chief material, Separate selection into new mesh and remove the remaining stuff (looks like trash?!)

then load texture, set to mapping to UV and apply the image in UV editor.

I did these tasks for you and saved as .blend, it should render out of the box:
I'm sitting, waiting, wishing, building Blender in superstition...
