Cycle light not going through glass material

Post by Jamz » Thu Oct 17, 2013 6:35 am

Hi there. On a number of occasions now, I've made windows/planes with the glass shader in cycles, and light isn't really travelling through them like it should. The windows are rendering rather opaque.

If I pull out the glass in the window, I get a nice sunny window frame pattern along with sunshine in this blender room.

Is there some trick to this glass shader that I don't know about?

I'm rather saddened by this issue because I've really loved the beauty of Blender Cycles.

What I find really frustrating, is I created another scene the other day, and light travels just fine through that window.

Though I did have a trouble at first, but discovered like another plane blocking the way I think and deleted then everything was fine. In this case.....there's nothing else there, light just won't shine through.

I can't see anything different between scene settings.
