"Skipping" frames while animating rotation

Post by osterchrisi » Fri Nov 01, 2013 4:10 pm

I have a strange problem with 2.61. I want to emulate a gear drive that I want to 3D print later. I have one "master gear" from which I calculate all other gear movements by means of Rotation Constraints.

So I animated my first gear with one rotation keyframe in the beginning and one keyframe at frame 200 where the rotation is 360° and then I extrapolate that to make it continously rotating into the future (and past). However, between frame 44 and 45 my second gear (constraint influence 0.1 - turns them times slower) "jumps" back. The frame seems random as while I tried to figure out it did that also in other frames. Other than the rotation of the first gear nothing happens in that frame. The only animation is that of the small gear itself.

What am I doing wrong?

Uff, sorry for the large images... The gears are made in openscad and then exported/imported as *.stl by the way.
