... for dumb how-do-I questions?
I would like to know if there is a way to scale an objects non-uniformally eg. I'm modelling a wood molding cut at a diagonal at one end. Fastest easiest way was to rotate one end by 45 degrees, then scale it larger in 2 directions. But not the third; I don't want a thicker board at one end. This seems really basic, so I'd be surprised if Blender can't do this, but hell if I can find how ....
I guess this is the forum ....

Do you have a middle mouse button!?
If you start to scale an object, move your mouse in the direction you want to scale and then press the middle mouse button. If you move your mouse again, you'll see that the scale is limited to that axis.
Hope this helps!
As a side note, this method works with moving objects too!
