Bit Torrent illegal!

Post by dgebel »

According to this report, all p2p file sharing is now illegal in Spain.
Not a good situation for, say, Elephant Dream fans and many others.

I'm spanish and I live in Spain.

The only difference with the new LPI (Intellectual Protection Law) is that, maybe, some new hardware will have a new (and unconstitutional) tax.

But this is not a big problem since some organitations have almost 500,000 ppl sign to 'try' to revoque that law due to its unconstitutionality.

Anyway, don't you think this is not the best place to talk about this since this is a dev forum?

Damn! So that means ppl in Spain are violating the law if they are sharing vacation photo's, Mozart, open source stuff, personal stuff over the net? And what this little known share program known as Microsoft network sharing build in in every Windows OS? Is that illegal too? What about sharing over a private lan? And say if that private lan is a VPN or Hamachi ( over the internet? What about newsgroups?

I think the law is unconstitional and full of holes. Software piracy always exsisted. It can't be stopped.

But hey, why pirate Max or Maya or XSI when you have Blender :P
